Unlike dermal fillers or Botox, Profhilo® is not designed to add volume to the skin or restrict movement in the facial muscles. As we age, most people begin to see the effects of hyaluronic acid
depletion as they reach their 30’s. Profhilo® treatment is a perfect solution to help counteract this process.
Profhilo® is administered to the face into the skin in five key areas –
the tops of cheeks, the side of the face, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds and laughter lines.
It can also be used to achieve tighter, more hydrated and firmer skin
around the neck, chest and décolletage.
Profhilo® works to remodel the skin and the results are noticeable after
just two treatments; producing firmer, hydrated, radiant and smoother skin.
In some cases further treatments are required to see the full benefit
and this will be discussed during your sessions; this can be dependant upon your body’s response to the first treatment.
Profhilo® is injected just under the skin utilising very fine needles
and is relatively painless. You may feel a short sting or scratch sensation, but this is temporary and does not last.
It is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or any anti-inflammatory
medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment.
Immediately afterwards it is important to avoid wearing make-up, strenuous exercise or the use of hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
You will need to avoid prolonged exposure to the sunlight for 48 hours
after the Profhilo® treatment and wear a high SPF sunscreen.
The results can last from 6 to 12 months after treatment, dependant upon your individual reaction to the initial treatment.
Maintenance and top-up treatments can be offered to help retain the
improved condition of the skin.
When injected, there will be small, localised bumps where the product is
placed; this is to be expected and is a normal part of the procedure. These lumps will then start to disperse very quickly, sometimes within 4-6 hours, and they will disappear completely by the next day.
The only reported side effects are mild bruising and swelling at the injection sites. These generally disappear in a short period and are associated with the use of the needle, rather than the product itself.
Profhilo® is made from ultra-pure, natural Hyaluronic Acid and is stabilised without the addition of chemical agents; this reduces the risk of adverse reactions.
